BarlingBrooksDuo_lg“Your healthy foods are killing you,” say Mannie Barling and Ashley F. Brooks. The authors of this comprehensive new guide show how to eat healthily without radically changing the substance of one’s diet and how to easily minimize the effects of inflammation which lead to disease and illness.

July 3, 2010 – Denver, CO, and Tarzana, CA – Authors and health care veterans Emanuel Barling, Jr., Esq., and Ashley F. Brooks, R.N., today announced the release of MANNIE’S DIET AND ENZYME FORMULA - A Change of Lifestyle Diet Designed for Everyone, published by Outskirts Press. This innovative and comprehensive new guide to eating healthily teaches its readers how to create an elimination-style diet exclusively designed for their own particular nutrition and lifestyle needs.

The authors had always thought that they were “eating healthy” per all the Food Pyramid charts they’d seen posted on doctor’s walls advocating fruits and vegetables. Then they started getting ill. The healthy food they were eating was killing them.

They learned that all these so-called healthy foods were polluted with herbicides, pesticides, preservatives and dangerous chemical food additives hidden in “clean labels.” No wonder they were feeling sick. Illness and disease are hastened by, and sometimes even caused by, these dangerous chemicals that now widely contaminate Americans’ diets leading to cancer, diabetes, heart disease and obesity.

Recognizing that no one diet is perfect for everyone, the authors help their readers identify the food intolerances and allergies specific to them. They also show readers how to eliminate toxic ingredients and how to identify a list of foods that are safe for them as individuals. Barling and Brooks recommend organic foods and spices because they are more appetizing, they satisfy hunger with smaller portions and they are nature’s only real guarantee for good health and longevity. Organic foods coupled with their natural enzyme formula described in the book changed their lives and everyone who has tried it.

Citing more than fifteen hundred medical treatises, journals, surveys, tests and periodicals in their book’s reference section, the authors provide the source material on every theory and opinion so that readers can read them for themselves.

MANNIE’S DIET AND ENZYME FORMULA is available on-line in paperback through Amazon and Barnes and Noble and at www.outskirtspress.com/bookstore for a maximum trade discount in quantities of ten or more.

Some people consider crawling along in traffic an opportunity to listen to their favorite music or relax and do their best thinking. For others, traffic is a nightmare that will ruin their entire day. For some, a late appointment is a stressful experience, for others, living in a third-world country without running water is a joyful one. Adversity or opportunity? It depends on your perspective. ThinkorSink

It is not your circumstances that are to blame for the issues in your life. Rather, it is your response to those issues that is the problem. This book shows you how to control your response to life's issues so that they lead to powerful results. Your response is always a choice. Whether you know it or not, either you make the right choice, or the wrong one is made for you.

Many people like to blame their circumstances, especially when times are tough. Blaming the circumstances might make you feel good in the short term but it ultimately leaves you powerless because you have given your power over to your circumstances.

This is not a book about what to think. This is a book about how to think for yourself, perhaps for the first time. There are a lot of books that tell you what to do. Sometimes the advice works and sometimes it doesn’t. There is no sure-fire way to tell. This is a different kind of book. This book is about how life works as a process. This book will show you how it works so you can make good decisions about what is right for you.

The instinctive response to any crisis or challenge is a predictable and hard-wired physiological reaction. It’s called your fight-or-flight response. The problem isn’t the response itself, the problem is that we tend to overuse this response in situations that don’t really warrant it. This inappropriate stress response has detrimental effects on your health and well-being. This book shows you how to regain control of your responses such that they lead to powerful results in your life. Your response is always a choice. Whether you know it or not, you make a choice or one is made for you. Either way, a choice is made.

Successful people and great leaders do one thing differently than most people during times of challenge. They think for themselves and choose powerful states of being instead of sinking into the prevailing negative default state of their circumstances and the people around them.
